Who Can Enter
1. All contest participants must be legal California state residents who are 18 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet and a valid e-mail address.
2. Employees of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group (LANG), Daley Technology Systems, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are ineligible.
How to Enter
3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The contest begins September 11, 2011, and runs through to the completion of the regular NFL season. Only one entry is allowed per eligible participant per competition week. Weekly, the sign-in period ends at 12:00 midnight, on Saturdays. To register, eligible participants visit the “Football Fever” website and click on the “Register Now” icon. Participants key in all necessary registration information and click "Submit" to successfully register. Registered members then can sign in weekly using their e-mail address to pick the winners of the week's NFL match-ups before the 12:00 midnight, Saturday deadline.
Weekly Winners Selection /Notification
4. There are 13 to 16 NFL team match-ups during the regular 2011-12 NFL football season. Weekly, a participant can win rewards in one of three award categories. Participants who correctly select 5-7 winning teams from that contest week’s NFL match-ups win a reward. Participants who correctly select at least 8-10 winning teams win a different reward with a higher perceived value. Participants who correctly select 11 or more winning teams win a reward with the highest perceived value. All weekly winners’ names are posted on the Website. All weekly winners receive a congratulatory e-mail. This e-mail directs them to the “Football Fever” website. Once online, they must key in the Winner’s Notification Code Number that appears in the e-mail. Doing this enables them to access and print out that week’s reward that is redeemable at a popular Southern California restaurant or entertainment venue.
End-of-contest Winners Selection/Notification
5. At the end of the “Football Fever” reader promotion, all weekly winners earn tickets (chances) to participate in up to three end-of-contest drawings, based on their success at picking the correct winning teams weekly. The three drawing categories are: “Pick 5-7 Drawing,” “Pick 8-10 Drawing,” and “Pick 11+Drawing.” If a participant correctly selects winning teams in the “Pick 11+” category for one week of the contest, he earns one ticket in that drawing category. If the participant also correctly selects winning teams in the “Pick 8-10” category for one week of the contest, he earn a second ticket in that drawing category. Finally, if the participant also correctly selects “Pick 5-7” winning teams for one week, he earns one ticket in that drawing category. That participant now has a total of 3 chances (1 + 1 + 1) to win in the three reward drawings. Five different end-of-contest winners in each of the three drawing categories will be notified by e-mail of their winning status within four weeks of the end of the “Football Fever” reader promotion. All end-of-contest winners are randomly selected. End-of-contest qualifiers can win only once in each of the three award drawings. End-of-contest drawing rewards need to be determined.
